2017 Research papers commissioned by SAMEA, CREST and CLEAR AA

The research papers were entitled:

• Towards achieving consensus on essential competencies for evaluation practice in South Africa
• Feasibility study on evaluation professionalism in South Africa: Filling the Gap
• Evaluation Utilisation
• Utilisation of evaluation in SA: Re-FRAMING the dynamics of evaluation relationships

The second workshop was a consultative session in order to discuss the formation of an alliance to strengthen evaluation in SA.SAMEA began the discussion by sharing a concept note as well as a presentation by Dr Wildschut.

Arising from this workshop, an agreement has been reached on the need to convene an alliance that will work on strengthening evaluation in SA, with SAMEA playing the lead, supported by a diverse range of partners.  SAMEA looks forward to facilitating the collaboration of partners on key strategies to strengthen the SA M&E system and we will begin with an engagement with academic institutions offering M&E courses. We will also work with stakeholders to initiate further research on the SA M&E landscape.
